Padres Lock Up Young

Monday, April 9, 2007

The Padres plan to announce a four year deal, worth 14.5 million dollars with an option for a fifth year with Padres pitcher Chris Young. Young went 11-5 with a 3.46 ERA in 31 starts with the Padres last year. Locking up Young is smart, he is showing that he can be an ace, and is hinting at becoming a 16 to 17 game winner. The Padres are also working on locking up Mike Cameron, after successfully signing Adrian Gonzalez. This year, Young is 0-0 with a 4.76 ERA and 4 K.
