Reds Like Fogg

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

The Reds and Josh Fogg are in contract discussions, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Fogg was 10-9 with 4.94 ERA for Colorado last year. It was the fifth time in six years he's won at least 10 games, which is great for a team looking for a reliable starter. Fogg will probably make four million dollars, and the Reds appear ready to give him that after cutting off talks with the Orioles over Erik Bedard.

Fogg is actually a good pickup for the Reds. Not as good as Bedard would have been, but he should give them 10-12 wins.

This is nowhere near a good idea, Fogg is a flyball pitcher who allows far too many homers while also walking too many and striking out few, not a good fit for GABP whatsoever. Fogg would be very lucky to reach double digits is wins in our park and would probably command 5-7 mil per season with a 2 or 3 year deal. We're better off with what we have, please pass Krivsky.

but what Fogg has now is WS experience, he played at Coors Field and still finished with 10 wins. I understand what you mean, but he can still help the Reds.
