Cox Extended
Wednesday, April 18, 2007
The Braves and Bobby Cox have agreed to a one year extension through the 2008 season. "No one is more deserving of this than Bobby Cox, and we are very pleased to extend his contract through 2008," Braves executive vice president and general manager John Schuerholz said. "We feel that Bobby is the best manager in the game, and his place in baseball history is well-secured. His leadership has helped the Braves to set a very high standard of excellence." Cox, 65, is expected to call it a career after 2008 because he only signed a one year extension, but we'll see what the Braves do record wise til then. Cox is known to develop players very well, and I'm sure the Braves will do whatever possible to keep him if they need him for another year.
