Damon, Matsui Out

Saturday, April 7, 2007

Hideki Matsui joined Johnny Damon on the bench today, leaving the game with a strained hamstring. Johnny Damon has been sidelined as of late with a strained calf and both will need replacements for the next couple of games, potentially. Matsui, who hit .302 with 8 HR in 51 games last year, after suffering a broken left wrist in May. Damon, who hit .285 with 24 HR and 80 RBI, has only played in one game this year, but the Yankees don't expect for Damon to miss too much time. However, if one of their injuries becomes serious, could they bring back Bernie Williams?

maybe Damon shouldn't make statements such as "We're the best team in baseball" as he did in Spring Training. Because he'll get hurt.

Lol, yeah Damon went way out on a limb when he made that statement!

yes he did, I mean I can understand players thinking like that but he has to remember it's been 6 years since the Yankees have won the World Series and every year since those 6 years they haven't been the best team. So...LOL
