Myers to 'Pen, Leiber Back In

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

After a terrible start for the Phillies (3-9), which included a near Pay Per View fight starring Charlie Manuel, a shakeup was in order. The Phillies decided to move struggling pitcher Brett Myers to the bullpen and move veteran pitcher Jon Leiber back into the rotation. Myers has struggled so far this season, going 0-2 with a 9.39 ERA. But Leiber hasn't done any better, with a 11.57 ERA. The Phillies are currently 5.5 games out of first place, trailing the Marlins(6-7) 1.5 games. The Phillies play the Nationals tonight with Adam Eaton taking the hill against Jason Bergmann.

Honestly isn't this a panic move because of the incident that took place? Brett Myers was supposed to be the Phillies ace, how do you take your ace out of the rotation after only 3 starts?

but what Phillies fan think it's a good move though knowing what Myers can do in the starting rotation?
