The Phillies and Wes Helms has agreed to a two year, 5.5 million dollar deal. Helms was the fall back for the Phillies if they were not able to land Mark DeRosa, who signed with the Cubs.

Around the MLB:
The Padres have contacted Jeff Boras, agent of Barry Bonds, and they seem to have some interest. He has played in San Diego for 10 years and knows the field well. He would fit right in and would give them a lot of power with Giles and Bonds.

The Orioles and reliever Jamie Walker are very close to a deal, FOXSPORTS.com is reporting. Walker is arguably the best left handed reliever on the market. The deal is estimated around 3 years 10 million.
