White Sox May Trade Pitching for Milledge

Monday, November 20, 2006

With Alou signed and given the job in left, highly touted prospect Lastings Milledge is now expendable. With the impressive amount of pitching the White Sox have, it is possible Omar Minaya might look for pitching to let go of Milledge. They have Garcia and Vasquez, so adding one of them would definitely help the Mets, especially if they can add Barry Zito. The Mets also plan to bid for Kei Igawa, who was posted Friday. If the Mets are able to trade for Garcia or Vasquez, land Igawa and Zito, they would have the best rotation in the NL East. I know this sounds like a longshot, but knowing the history and tactics of Omar Minaya, this would be a challenge, but no where near impossible.
